Will this do my child's homework for them?
No. Marigold is designed to teach, not to complete work. When a student asks for an answer, the AI responds with a guiding question or a partial explanation that leads them to the answer themselves. Parents can review every conversation in the dashboard at any time.
What ages is Marigold designed for?
Marigold is built for grades 3 through 12, roughly ages 8 to 18. The interface language and explanation complexity adapt based on the student's grade level. All interactions are COPPA-compliant and filtered for age-appropriate content throughout.
How is this different from ChatGPT?
ChatGPT gives answers. Marigold builds understanding. Every session is structured around guided questions, partial hints, comprehension checks, and adaptive difficulty. ChatGPT does not track progress, does not alert parents, does not know what grade your child is in, and does not have the academic safeguards Marigold applies by default.
What subjects are covered?
Marigold covers the full K-12 core curriculum: math from arithmetic through AP Calculus, science across earth, life, chemistry, and physics through AP level, English and writing, U.S. and world history, AP Government, and foreign languages including Spanish and French levels I through IV. AP Computer Science is also included.
Can my child use it on a phone?
Yes. Marigold works in any browser on mobile, tablet, or desktop. The mobile interface is optimized for one-thumb navigation. Students can also photograph a physical worksheet and upload it directly from their camera roll without any extra steps.
Is there a free trial?
Yes -- 14 days free with no credit card required. The full Family plan is unlocked during the trial period. If Marigold is not a fit after the trial, there is nothing to cancel and no charge applied. We are confident in what consistent use produces.
What if my child needs help with a state-specific curriculum?
Marigold follows Common Core for math and ELA (adopted by 41 states) and NGSS for science. For states with distinct standards like Texas TEKS or Virginia SOLs, the content alignment is strong enough for effective daily practice in the vast majority of cases.
Can I see everything my child and the AI discuss?
Yes, always. The parent dashboard logs every session including questions asked and concepts covered. You can drill into any individual conversation. Full transparency for parents is a core design principle in Marigold, not an optional add-on.
