Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about the Multi-State CPA License Feed

The Enrichment Model

How does the enrichment work?

We scrape all 50 state CPA licensing boards weekly for newly issued certificates. Each record is then enriched with:

  • LinkedIn firm affiliation - the CPA's current practice
  • Specialization signals - tax, audit, forensic, advisory, etc.
  • Geography - state, metro area, and practice location
  • Readiness score - likelihood they're shopping for new tools

The output is a scored outreach file delivered to subscribers selling practice management software, E&O insurance, or financial planning platforms.

What's included in each record?

Each CPA record contains:

  • Full name and license number
  • State and license issue date
  • LinkedIn profile URL
  • Current firm (parsed from LinkedIn)
  • Specialization (tax, audit, forensic, etc.)
  • Practice size (solo, small firm, mid-market, enterprise)
  • Geographic targeting data
  • Enrichment confidence score

How often is the data updated?

The feed updates weekly on Mondays at 6 AM ET. We pull licensing data from all 50 state boards every 7 days, enrich it, and push new records to your endpoint. Existing records are immutable - we append, never overwrite.

Coverage & Data Quality

Which states does this cover?

All 50 US states plus DC. We maintain automated scrapers for each board's licensing portal. Coverage is 100%, and state-specific quirks (reciprocal licenses, exam schedules, credential requirements) are handled in the enrichment layer.

How accurate is the LinkedIn enrichment?

Confidence varies. We use name, state, and license date to search LinkedIn. On a typical weekly batch:

  • High confidence (90%+) - ~65% of records. Clear match on name, state, and credential timeline.
  • Medium confidence (70-89%) - ~25% of records. Good match but some ambiguity (common names, recent moves).
  • Low confidence (<70%) - ~10% of records. Flagged for manual review or excluded by default.

What's the latency from license issue to delivery?

Typically 3-7 days. State boards update their portals on different schedules. Most issue certificates and publish within 2-3 days. Our scraper runs weekly, so worst-case latency is ~10 days (if a board publishes the day after our run). Average is 4 days from issuance to delivery.

Integration & Delivery

How do I receive the feed?

You have two options:

  • REST API - POST endpoint we deliver new records to every Monday morning
  • Secure SFTP - CSV or JSON file dropped to your SFTP folder

We handle retries, error logging, and delivery confirmations. Integrate in minutes - no long setup process.

Can I filter by state or specialization?

Yes. At sign-up, you specify:

  • States to include (default: all 50)
  • Specializations to prioritize (tax, audit, forensic, advisory, etc.)
  • Practice size filters (solo, small, mid-market, enterprise)
  • Confidence score thresholds

We only deliver records matching your criteria, eliminating noise and keeping your pipeline clean.

Can I test before committing?

Yes. All plans include a 2-week free trial with a live data sample. You get real weekly feeds from 2-3 states so you can validate quality before going all-in.

Pricing & Terms

How is this priced?

Usage-based pricing tied to records delivered per week:

  • Growth - up to 2,500 records/week - $7,200/month
  • Enterprise - unlimited - $15,000+/month + dedicated support

No setup fees. No long-term contracts. Cancel anytime. Most financial product vendors fall in Growth tier (~1,500 records/month across all states).

Yes. Annual prepay gets 15% off. Enterprise customers negotiate custom terms. We also offer partner pricing for resellers building white-label feeds.

What about SLAs?

Standard SLAs include:

  • 99.5% delivery uptime
  • Delivery within 24 hours of data becoming available
  • Email support Mon-Fri 9am-5pm ET
  • Enterprise plans: 24/7 phone support, 99.9% SLA

Compliance & Privacy

Is this data GDPR / CCPA compliant?

Yes. CPA license data is public record - issued and published by state boards. We do not store or process personal data beyond name, license number, and state. No PII, no tracking, no third-party sharing. We comply with GDPR, CCPA, and GLBA requirements. Your use case (B2B outreach to licensed professionals) is the intended secondary use of public record data.

Can I use this for email / cold outreach?

Yes, it's the primary use case. We don't provide email addresses by default - you'll source those separately via LinkedIn or your own research. The feed gives you high-intent targets at the moment of peak buying intent (right after they earn a new credential). Pair it with your own outreach infrastructure.

How is my data secured?

All data in transit is encrypted (TLS 1.3). At-rest data is encrypted with AES-256. Access logs are retained for 90 days. We do not share, sell, or store your activity data. Audit trails available upon request. Enterprise customers get SOC 2 Type II attestation.
