Why a warrior companion instead of a cute mascot?

Cute mascots teach you to perform discipline for a cartoon character. That's backwards. GritPet puts you in the warrior frame. Your companion levels up because you showed up. It mirrors what men actually want: earned progress, no coddling, no participation trophies.

Is GritPet only for men?

The design is built for men who reject cuteness. Women who prefer the same no-frills, direct approach to accountability absolutely use it. But the UX, tone, and reward loop are optimized for the male mindset around discipline.

How is this different from other habit trackers?

Most trackers gamify compliance for kids or ask you to love a cute thing. GritPet is built on a single mechanic: your companion gets stronger when you stay disciplined, and weakens when you slack. No streaks, no confetti, no celebration of basic human behavior. Just earned progression or earned consequences.

What is the leveling system?

Your warrior starts at Level 1. Each completed habit check-in gives XP to your companion. Accumulate enough XP and your warrior levels up. Higher levels unlock cosmetics, new traits, and harder challenges. It's straightforward: you perform, your companion grows.

What happens if I miss a habit?

Your companion decays. Missed check-ins tank its level. This isn't punitive, it's honest. If you're not disciplined, your companion shouldn't be maxed out. The decay is proportional: one missed day is a setback, ten missed days is damage that takes weeks to repair.

What kinds of habits can I track?

Anything. Gym. Code shipped. Pages read. Cold showers. Meditation. No stupid limits, no judgment. GritPet is a mirror, not a nanny. Your habits, your warrior's state.

Can I have multiple warriors?

One warrior per account. That forces real prioritization. You can't hedge by spreading habits across multiple cute pets. Pick your three core disciplines and commit to leveling one companion. That's the game.

What's the pricing?

GritPet is free. Track habits, level your warrior, no ads, no nag screens. Paid cosmetics and advanced features are coming, but core discipline is never paywalled.

Will there be a paid tier?

Eventually. Think cosmetics: skins, weapons, armor sets. Purely visual, zero gameplay advantage. Your warrior's power is determined by your discipline, not your wallet.

How is my data stored?

Your habit data is encrypted and stored on our servers. We don't sell it. We don't mine it. We don't use it to sell you stuff. Your discipline is yours.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. Delete your account and all your data is wiped permanently within 30 days. Your warrior is gone. Start fresh or move on.

Can I export my data?

We're building CSV export. For now, you can screenshot. If data portability matters to you, let us know and we'll prioritize it.

The app crashed. What do I do?

Force-quit and restart. If it keeps crashing, email us with your OS and device. We fix bugs fast.

I haven't checked in for days. Will my warrior be ruined?

Probably a few levels down. But warriors are built to recover. Get back to the habit and you'll climb again. That's the whole point.

Can I change my habits once I've started?

Yes. Swap out habits anytime. Your warrior's experience carries over; you're just redirecting effort.
