Getting Started
What is DNB Discovery Spotify?
DNB Discovery Spotify is a community-driven platform that connects drum and bass producers and fans through CLI-based track discovery, curation, and sharing. Connect your Spotify account, discover fresh DNB tracks shared by the community, and broadcast your favorite finds to our Telegram channel and shared SSH rave terminal.
How do I get started?
Install the CLI tool via npm: npm install -g dnb-discovery-spotify. Authenticate with your Spotify account, connect to our SSH rave terminal, and start discovering. Full setup guide available at /guides.
Do I need a Spotify account?
Yes. We integrate directly with Spotify to fetch track metadata, link to playlists, and manage your library. Free accounts work perfectly - no premium required.
Using the Community
What's the SSH rave terminal?
A public, shared terminal environment where producers can broadcast new tracks, vote on community favorites, and participate in live discovery sessions. Connect with SSH and type 'rave' to join the session.
How are tracks ranked in the discovery feed?
Tracks are ranked by community votes, recency of submission, and curator feedback. Most-voted tracks surface to the top. Curators - experienced DNB fans - can surface hidden gems manually.
Can I contribute my own tracks?
Yes. Submit tracks via CLI (dnb-cli submit <spotify-url>) or post to the Telegram channel. Include a brief note about the artist or why you love it - context fuels discovery.
What are community guidelines?
Keep it DNB (liquid, neurofunk, jump-up, drum and bass). No spam or self-promotion without context. Respect other tastes - DNB is diverse. Respect artist rights - only share official releases.
Integrations & Features
Does this integrate with other platforms?
Primary integrations: Spotify (library, playlists) and Telegram (channel notifications). We're exploring Apple Music, SoundCloud, and YouTube Music support. Vote on your priority on the roadmap.
Can I export my discovered tracks?
Yes. Export as Spotify playlist, CSV, or raw JSON via CLI. Your library data is yours - we don't monetize it.
How do curators get selected?
Curators are nominated by the community and approved based on track-curation history, respectful participation, and deep DNB knowledge. Apply via the curator nomination form in your account settings.
Is there a mobile app?
Not yet. The CLI is terminal-first for now, keeping the vibe pure. Mobile PWA coming Q3 2026. Use Telegram alerts to stay posted on new tracks while mobile.
Privacy & Safety
Is my Spotify data safe?
We use OAuth - your password never touches us. We read your library and playlists only to match tracks for discovery. We don't share, sell, or monitor your listening habit. Full privacy policy available.
Can I stay anonymous?
You can use a pseudonym for your profile. Spotify account link is private. Submissions are credited to your profile name only.
How do you handle abuse?
We moderate the SSH rave terminal and Telegram channel for spam, hate speech, and guideline violations. Report via /abuse [user] or email abuse@dnb-discovery.com. First violation: warning. Second: 7-day mute. Third: removal.
Support
Where's the documentation?
