AI for Architecture Firms

Design more.
Document less.

Architecture firms lose up to 30% of billable principal time to documentation. Architect AI drafts your specs, proposals, change orders, and RFI responses in seconds so your best people can stay in the work that earns fees.

Every hour at the keyboard
is an hour away from the model.

Small architecture firms run on talent. But spec writing, scope clarifications, RFI backlogs, and client proposal drafts pull principals out of design for days at a time. Work piles up. Deadlines compress. Realization rates fall. The problem is not the volume of projects. It is the volume of words those projects demand.

28%
of principal time spent on documentation and administrative writing in firms under 20 staff
4.5 hrs
average time to draft one complete specification section from scratch in a typical DD package
11 days
typical lag from project kickoff to first client proposal delivered, driven by writing backlog alone
62%
of AEC professionals identify documentation backlog as their top recurring workflow bottleneck

Every document type.
Every project phase.

From schematic design through construction administration, Architect AI handles the writing. Your team handles the architecture.

Project Specifications

Describe the scope in plain language and Architect AI generates fully formatted CSI MasterFormat specification sections. Roof assemblies, MEP coordination notes, finish schedules -- output in your firm voice, ready for review in minutes, not days.

Client Proposals

Turn a project brief into a complete fee proposal in under 10 minutes. Architect AI structures scope of services, deliverables, exclusions, and fee breakdowns in the format clients expect. Customize tone from conservative to competitive depending on the relationship.

RFI Drafting

Paste in the field question, reference the relevant drawing set, and Architect AI drafts a precise Request for Information response with proper citation. Reduces the back-and-forth loop that stalls construction progress and exposes firms to liability gaps.

Change Orders

Document the scope change, the cost impact, and the schedule delta in professional language. Architect AI generates change order letters that protect your fee position and maintain the client relationship at the same time. No more agonizing over tone when money is on the table.

Code Compliance Narratives

Reference relevant IBC, ADA, energy code, and zoning requirements for a given project type and jurisdiction. Architect AI drafts the compliance narrative section so your team verifies rather than originates. Fewer omissions. Faster permit submittals.

Meeting Minutes

Paste in rough notes or upload a voice transcript and Architect AI returns structured meeting minutes with attendees, decisions made, and action items assigned with owners and due dates. Client-ready in two minutes. No more chasing a junior associate to finalize the notes two days later.

Three steps from brief
to billable document.

01

Describe the Project

Enter the project type, scope, client, location, and phase. You can use shorthand. Architect AI understands AEC terminology and asks smart follow-up questions only when it genuinely needs more context. Most projects are ready to draft in under 90 seconds of setup.

02

Select the Document Type

Choose from spec section, proposal, RFI, change order, meeting minutes, code narrative, or transmittal letter. Architect AI applies the correct format and structure for each type automatically and references the right code edition for your jurisdiction.

03

Review and Deliver

The draft is yours to edit, approve, and send. Export to Word, PDF, or paste directly into your project management platform. Every document carries your firm name and logo, not ours. The client never knows AI touched it first.

Architecture team reviewing project drawings at a large table

Not a generic AI writer. An AEC specialist.

General-purpose AI tools produce generic language that requires heavy revision before it can go to a client or a general contractor. Architect AI is trained on the specific document types, terminology, and expectations of architecture and engineering practice.

It knows the difference between DD specs and CD specs. It references the right code editions by jurisdiction. It formats change orders the way contractors expect to read them. The more it learns about your firm's projects and preferences, the less you have to correct it.

What firms say
after the first week.

"I sent a complete project proposal to a new client four hours after our first call. That has never happened before. We won the project partly because we moved faster than the other firms they were talking to."

Marcus Delacroix, AIA

Principal, Delacroix Architecture Studio | Portland, OR

"The RFI draft tool alone is worth the subscription. Our CA phase used to consume 60% of my associate director's time. Now she reviews and approves drafts instead of starting from scratch. The pace of the project is completely different."

Priya Nair, AIA LEED AP

Principal, Nair Built | San Francisco, CA

"We were skeptical. Every AI writing tool we had tried produced language that was embarrassingly generic. Architect AI is different. It sounds like someone who actually understands what a geotechnical report is and what belongs in a Division 03 spec section."

Tom Eriksen

Managing Partner, Eriksen Friis Architects | Minneapolis, MN

What firms ask before signing up.

Does Architect AI know current building codes?

Architect AI references current IBC, ADA, NFPA, and major state energy codes. It flags which edition it is drawing from in every compliance narrative, so your team knows exactly what to verify. We update the code library quarterly and push urgent corrections as they become necessary between updates.

Will the output actually sound like my firm?

The firm voice profile lets you upload samples of your existing proposals and spec documents. Architect AI learns your preferred terminology, tone, level of formality, and section structure. Within two to three documents, most firms report the output requires only minor editing to match their standard voice. The more you use it, the better it fits.

What happens to my project data?

Your documents and project data are never used to train the model and are never shared with other firms. Each workspace is completely isolated. You own your output. We hold it in encrypted storage and you can export or delete your data at any time, no questions asked.

Can I integrate with Newforma, Procore, or my project management platform?

Native integrations with Newforma and Procore are on the roadmap for Q3. Today you can export to Word or PDF and drop files into any platform you use. Studio tier includes API access if your team wants to build a direct connection now rather than waiting for the native integration.

Is there a contract? What if I want to cancel?

Month-to-month plans cancel anytime with no fee. Annual plans are billed up front and are non-refundable after 30 days, though you retain full access through the end of your paid term. There are no cancellation penalties. Most firms that cancel do so because they reduced staff or merged with a larger practice, not because the product stopped working for them.

How long does it take to produce a first draft?

A standard specification section runs 40 to 90 seconds depending on complexity. A full project proposal for a known project type takes 3 to 6 minutes. An RFI draft is typically under 30 seconds once the project context is loaded. Most users run their first real document in the same session they sign up, often within the first 15 minutes of a free trial.
