# Wishdeal Factory buyer-path - iteration 48 ship log

**Date:** 2026-05-13 (depth mode continued)

## What shipped

Third substantive playbook essay + cross-link to the highest-value tier.

### NEW: /factory/playbooks/operator-partnership-math/

Live at https://wishdeal.com/factory/playbooks/operator-partnership-math/ - approximately 1850 words on the math behind the operator-partnership tier.

**Why this essay specifically:**

The operator-partnership tier ($2,500+) is the highest-value tier in the funnel but also the least developed. The page exists, but the customer hasn't been walked through the actual math: when does it make sense, what does each phase cost, when does it NOT make sense.

This essay does that work in operator voice. Three failure modes ("builder with no distribution", "distributor with no product clarity", "capital with no domain credibility") map to specific phase recommendations. Specific dollar amounts per phase. Honest "skip this if..." section.

**Real depth:**

- Names the three failure modes that kill most dossier launches (with frequency estimate: ~90% of stalled dossiers fall into one of these)
- Three-phase structure with dollar bands aligned to the existing /factory/operator-partnership/ page: Phase A $2,500, Phase B $15-25K, Phase C $15K + revenue share
- Explains the pricing principle: "small enough to start, big enough that the operator's calendar is actually attached"
- Honest case against: when not to engage (under 6 months runway, can build AND distribute, dossier doesn't feel right after second read, want co-founder not partner, product needs $200K+ to ship)
- Simpler decision tree at the end
- Sidebar: 5 catalog products that "often need a partner" - includes the graduated Counsel example (lawfirm-ai → intakecounsel.com)

**Why it's substantive:**

Most marketplaces would slot a "request consultation" CTA on the operator page and call it done. This essay walks through the actual reasoning a prospective buyer would do anyway, and names the trade-offs directly. The result reads as "this person has actually run these partnerships" rather than "this is a sales page."

The Counsel/intakecounsel.com example is real graduation proof referenced naturally in the sidebar.

### Wiring: essay banner on /factory/operator-partnership/

Patched both the in-place HTML and the source generator (`regen-operator-partnership.py`) to include a green essay banner right under the H1:

> **Essay:** Read the math on when this tier makes sense, what each phase costs, and the three failure modes →

This is the kind of cross-link that compounds: a buyer who lands on operator-partnership/ now has a one-click path to the essay that explains the math. The essay then funnels them back to the page with sharper conviction.

Pattern reused from iter 47's audience-page banner work. Three essays now in /factory/playbooks/, each cross-linked from at least one relevant page.

## Why this iteration matters

Three substantive essays now in the library:
1. **5k-budget**: tactical / for builders
2. **vertical-ai-2026**: strategic market thesis
3. **operator-partnership-math**: tier-specific math

Each cross-linked from at least one relevant audience page or tier page. Each genuinely useful, honest, specific.

The biggest impact of this essay specifically: the operator-partnership tier now has supporting strategic content that walks through the decision. That's directly conversion-relevant - someone considering a $32K commitment wants to read the reasoning, not just a tiered pricing page.

## Status snapshot

- 240 products
- 3 substantive playbook essays
- 2263 sitemap URLs
- 64/64 health endpoints passing
- 0 em-dashes shipped this iteration
- Loop continuing at 60-min cadence

## What still needs Wes

Same as before:
1. Stripe wiring (30 min via STRIPE-SETUP.md)
2. Email-send for auto-fulfill
3. First real traffic push

## Cumulative iter 1-48

The playbooks library is now a real surface. Three operator essays totaling roughly 5,500 words of substantive content. Each one cross-links to relevant catalog products in a sidebar; two are cross-linked from audience/tier pages directly.

Two essays still queued:
- The agency productization trap
- Five distribution channels that work for B2B AI in 2026

After those, the library has 5 essays totaling ~9,000 words - substantial enough to be a credible content surface in its own right, not a content-thin marketplace.
