## How I got here

Googled "statement of work generator tool" last Tuesday around 10pm after I spent an embarrassing amount of time rewriting scope language for a new ecomm client. I have a Notion template but it's a disaster -- sections copied from old jobs, inconsistent payment terms, I once forgot to include a revision limit and that client almost killed me. Second result was this page. Clicked it, read it front to back, then sat there confused for a few minutes.

## What I clicked first

The hero got me. "Generate Professional Statements of Work in Minutes" is exactly what I needed to hear. And the sub-copy is doing real work: "captures scope, deliverables, timeline, and terms automatically from brief descriptions." That's the specific pain. Not "streamline your workflow" -- it named the thing I actually hate doing. The "reduce proposal time by 70%" claim made me squint but I kept reading.

## Where I paused

The "Scope Creep Protection" section. Quote: "SOW Writer auto-generates an out of scope section based on your project description to prevent scope creep before it starts." I stopped here because this is the actual money feature and I've never seen any tool do it automatically. Every SOW tool I've looked at (and I've looked at like six) just gives you a blank text box labeled "Out of Scope." If this works the way they're describing it, that's legitimately useful. I made a note.

## What I distrusted

The page markets a product -- pricing tiers, $29/mo starter, export to PDF and Google Docs, approval workflows -- and then about two-thirds of the way down tells me: "Honest disclosure: we don't have live customers on this idea yet." That is a strange thing to put on a product page. So... is this real software or not? The Starter plan at $29/mo has a "Choose" button. The FAQ says "Most SOWs take 2 to 5 minutes." But then it says they "shipped the strategy package" and I have to "ship the customer conversations."

I read it again. I think what's actually happening is this is a business idea marketplace -- Wishdeal Studio is selling me the *plan to build* this product, not the product itself. The "$-15,472 Year-1 take-home (Fermi)" and "1 in 6 Meaningful-success odds" are for the person who adopts the idea. But the top of the page reads like a live SaaS product with active customers.

I genuinely could not tell for about four minutes whether this was a real tool or a pitch deck for sale. That's a problem.

## What would convince me

If this is a real product: one screenshot of an actual generated SOW with the out-of-scope section visible. Not a mockup. An actual messy real one, the kind that comes out of a plumbing contractor or a UX freelancer describing their project in two sentences. Show me the weird edge cases. Show me what it does when the input is vague.

If this is the idea-adoption thing: a 60-second Loom of someone using the working code starter against a real project description. Not the explainer video on the hero (which I didn't watch yet). A demo of the actual output.

The "1 in 6" odds number is interesting and I respect it. But "Year-1 take-home of negative $15K" on a tool with genuine distribution problems is not a great pitch.

## What I'd ask in an email reply

1. Is there a live version of this I can actually log into right now, or is the $29/mo pricing hypothetical until someone adopts the idea?
2. The out-of-scope auto-generation -- what's actually powering that logic? Is it pattern-matching from the project description or is there a structured input I'd have to fill out?
3. The "Historical Library" feature -- if I adopt this and build it, does the starter code include that, or is it on my roadmap?

## Verdict: on-the-fence

The underlying problem is real and I would pay $29/mo for the actual tool described in the top half of the page without hesitating. But I'm still not sure if that tool exists. The page needs to commit to what it is before I can decide if I want it.
