# Marcus Delgado, Operations Manager at Ridgeline Comfort (HVAC, 14 techs, ~580 active maintenance contracts) — read of Renewal AI, May 8 2026

> 9 years running ops for a regional HVAC company. We live and die by our maintenance agreement renewals. I coach U10 soccer Saturday mornings and get to work by 6:30 so I can actually think before the phones start.

## How I got here

Somebody posted in the Field Service Pros Facebook group asking how people handle contract renewals. Half the comments were "we do it in a spreadsheet lol" and somebody dropped a link to this page. I clicked it on my lunch break on my phone. I had maybe 4 minutes.

## What I clicked first

"Stop losing recurring revenue to forgotten renewals" -- that headline is doing real work. We have exactly this problem. Monday mornings used to mean somebody printing a list and doing manual follow-up calls. That phrase "forgotten renewals" is the correct diagnosis. It didn't feel like it was trying to sell me a dream. It felt like whoever wrote it has watched a service business bleed customers.

## Where I paused

The Mike quote: "Renewal AI does in seconds what took our team an hour every Monday." That stopped me. Not because I believed it immediately, but because he described our actual ritual. An hour on Monday. That's real. The specificity made me read more carefully instead of bouncing.

The pricing table also made me pause in a good way. $0.49 per customer per month, $49 minimum. With 580 customers that's $284/month. I can do that math against what one recovered contract is worth to us (average $220/year). If this recovers even 2 extra contracts a month it pays for itself. So the economics aren't the problem. The problem is whether it actually works.

## What I distrusted

The testimonials have no last names and no company names. "Sarah, pest control operator" and "Mike, HVAC service owner" read like placeholder copy that never got filled in. If Sarah's real, what's her company? I can Google that. "$18K in revenue we almost lost" is a specific enough number that it smells like it could be real, but without anything to verify it, it sits in the same mental bucket as "9 out of 10 dentists."

Also: ServiceTitan is not in the integration list. That's the dominant platform for HVAC and pest control businesses that have more than 3 trucks. Stripe, QuickBooks, Acuity -- those are fine, but the first thing I would have checked is ServiceTitan compatibility and it's not there. That's a gap that will lose a chunk of their ICP immediately.

"Built by Wishdeal Studio" at the bottom footer is a flag. This isn't a standalone company, it's a studio build. I have no opinion on whether that's bad, but I noticed it. It makes me wonder if there's a real support team behind this or if it's a side project.

The phrase "AI examines payment history, engagement trends, service notes, and usage patterns to predict churn" is doing no work for me. Every SaaS says some version of this. What model? What's the actual signal? One HVAC customer who goes quiet for 60 days might just be in a new construction contract. I want to know if the AI accounts for seasonality, because our renewal patterns are completely different in October vs. February.

## What would convince me

A short video showing the actual risk score interface for a real customer account. Not a polished demo with fake names. I want to see: here is a real maintenance contract customer, here is the risk score, here is WHY the AI flagged them, and here is the email that got sent. Show me the output is not a generic "Hi [first name], we noticed your contract is coming up" template.

Also: one testimonial with a verifiable company name I can actually look up. A Google review, a LinkedIn post, anything. The $18K number is either real or it isn't. If it's real, Sarah should have a last name.

## What I'd ask in an email reply

1. Does this integrate with ServiceTitan? That's where all our customer data actually lives. If I have to manually sync, this probably doesn't work for us.

2. How does the AI handle seasonality? A customer who went quiet in January might just be waiting for spring. Does the risk score account for that, or will I get flooded with alerts for customers who are completely normal?

3. Who is actually supporting this? Is there a team? I saw "Built by Wishdeal Studio" in the footer. If I have a sync issue at 7 AM before my Monday calls, who picks up?

## Verdict: on-the-fence

The problem statement is exactly right and the pricing is in a range I could justify. But the missing ServiceTitan integration and the thin social proof keep me from booking a call today. I'd reply to a follow-up email if it addressed the integration question directly.
