# Derek Fontaine, Director of Sales at ClearPath Staffing (47 employees) — read of No-Show Recovery, June 5 2026

> 9 years in B2B sales, last 4 running an inside team at a healthcare staffing firm. We book 60+ discovery calls a month and lose probably 18 of them to no-shows. I've tried three things. None stuck.

## How I got here

Googled "automate no-show follow up CRM" on my drive in this morning. I was dictating to Siri on my phone in the parking lot, then pulled this up on my laptop at my desk. I found it through a Reddit thread where someone mentioned voice AI for rescheduling. Three clicks and I was here. I had maybe 8 minutes before standup.

## What I clicked first

"Stop losing revenue to no-shows. Let AI recover them." is about as generic as it gets, but I read past it because the flow underneath it was actually structured. "Bot dials within 2 minutes. No lag." -- that's the first specific claim I saw. That's the thing I actually want. The gap between a no-show and the next outreach is where we bleed prospects. Two minutes is a real number I can test my skepticism against.

## Where I paused

The scoring section. I have never seen a product page rate its own pain intensity at 4/10. That's a weird thing to publish. They also show "$-25,700 Year-1 take-home" which is a negative number. Then they say "1 in 6 Meaningful-success odds." I stopped scrolling completely and read that three times. I cannot tell if this is the most honest SaaS page I've ever seen or if the product is being sold to someone other than me.

Turns out it kind of is. The tiers at the bottom are selling a dossier and a code starter, not the actual running software. So I spent 5 minutes evaluating a tool that isn't actually a tool yet. That is a real thing that happened to me today.

## What I distrusted

"Natural AI Voice TivAI advanced synthesis. Sounds human. Handles objections. Transparent about being AI." That last sentence undercuts the one before it. If it's transparent about being AI, then "sounds human" is describing vocal quality, not deception -- which is fine -- but the order of those claims implies a bait-and-switch that isn't actually there. It just reads sloppy.

Also: "SC" is mentioned twice with zero explanation. "No-show flagged in SC. Bot dials within 2 minutes." I had to reverse-engineer from the footer that SC is SalesConnector. If your product is a SalesConnector integration, say that in the first 100 words. I use HubSpot. Now I have to figure out if this is even relevant to me.

The "Complete Privacy" block lists "SOC 2 Type II" but there's no link to the cert, no audit date, nothing. At this stage of a product that by their own admission has zero live customers, leading with SOC 2 is either aspirational or borrowed credibility from something adjacent.

## What would convince me

A real call recording. Not a cleaned-up demo. An actual conversation where a prospect says "I don't want to talk to a bot" and the AI handles it. That one objection is the thing I'm most worried about and nobody ever shows it. Even a transcript with timestamps would do it.

Also: clarify whether this is software I can plug in tomorrow or a blueprint to build it myself. The page tries to serve both audiences and ends up confusing both. If you have an actual deployed version running on one pilot customer, say so, even informally. "We're live with one account, here's what we learned" would move me faster than any feature bullet.

## What I'd ask in an email reply

1. Does this work with HubSpot or is it SalesConnector-only right now? If SC-only, what's the integration roadmap?
2. What does "transparent about being AI" actually sound like in the first 10 seconds of the call? What does the bot say, verbatim?
3. You rate pain intensity at 4/10 but this is a daily problem for my team. What's your definition of pain intensity, and what would push it higher in your model?

## Verdict: on-the-fence

The honesty is genuinely unusual and I respect it, but I showed up looking for a tool and found a product studio selling a build kit. If there's a live version I can run a 2-week pilot on, I'm a real prospect. If I have to build it myself, I'm not the buyer.
