# Marcus Delgado, Independent Mixing Engineer — read of Music Production AI, May 11 2026

## How I got here

Searched "studio booking software for independent producers" after I triple-booked myself on a Wednesday in April and had to eat a session fee. Second result was a Reddit thread, someone linked this. I gave it maybe four minutes.

## What I clicked first

The hero line "Solo producers, stop sessions from evaporating into no-shows" got me. That's real. I lose one to two sessions a month to no-shows or last-minute reschedules and I have no automated follow-up for any of it. Then I hit "Unlock the dossier · $5" and I stopped cold. That's not a CTA for a product. That's a CTA for a pitch deck. I had to re-read the whole page to figure out what was actually for sale.

## Where I paused

The "Honest disclosure" block: "we don't have live customers on this idea yet." That's buried maybe 60% down the page, after pricing, after a full feature list, after "Start Free" buttons. I almost didn't see it. The pricing table shows $29/mo and $79/mo with real feature tiers, but there's no product. I'm looking at a landing page for a concept, not a tool I can log into. That's a significant thing to bury.

## What I distrusted

Three things.

First, "Session Intelligence. Notes attach to clients, not sessions. What mic they prefer. How they take feedback." I've been in this world nine years. Most of my clients are rappers booking 3-hour sessions twice a month. The number of them who have "mic preferences" I need a database to remember is zero. This reads like someone who interviewed zero working producers and guessed at what would sound good in a feature list.

Second, the Fermi math. "$-11,392 Year-1 take-home." That's on the product page. For the buyer. I don't know what studio I'm supposed to be buying software for vs. what business I'm being pitched to build. This page is doing two things at once and neither one is clear.

Third, "Built by Wishdeal Studio" with a note about "Adoptability 68/100" and "probability of meaningful success around 14%." This is a startup idea factory selling me the idea of building this product, not the product itself. The whole page makes more sense once you realize that, but I had to figure it out myself.

## What would convince me

Show me one working demo environment. Not a video. An actual login I can poke around in for 10 minutes. The feature list is plausible and the pain is real, but every sentence on here could have been written without building a single line of code, and the disclosure section confirms that's essentially true.

If this were a real product, I'd want to see one invoice that was actually generated by the tool, with the session summary and payment link intact. That's the thing I hate doing most and the thing most tools get wrong.

## What I'd ask in an email reply

1. Is there a working product I can log into right now, or is the $5 buying me a build plan?
2. The "Start Free" buttons lead where exactly? I clicked one and I'm guessing it's either a waitlist or a dead end.
3. What does "built by producers, for producers" mean specifically? Who were the producers? What did they build?

## Verdict: dismissive

Not because the problem is wrong, it isn't. But this is a product idea dressed as a product page, and I spent three minutes confused about what I was even looking at. If there's a real tool here in six months with a working free trial, I'd look again. Right now there's nothing to reply to.
