## How I got here

Saw a tweet from someone I follow in the IndieHackers orbit linking to the Wishdeal Factory saying "best honest idea scorecard I've seen." Clicked through the main catalog, sorted by adoptability, found this one near the bottom of the general SaaS list. I was on my commuter train so I had about 20 minutes before my stop.

## What I clicked first

"Zero Resubmissions" caught me. That's a specific problem-shaped promise. Most tools in this space say "save time" or "streamline your workflow" and I glaze over. Resubmissions are a concrete loop of pain. I read the sub-line: "We guarantee compliance on the first try, eliminating the resubmit-delay cycle." That word "guarantee" made me lean in and then immediately squint. How do you guarantee that? Exam portals change their specs. If a portal updates from 800x600 to 900x700 next quarter, your guarantee is just... a lie now?

## Where I paused

The Fermi math section. Right there, center of page:

I had to stop and re-read that. They're not hiding it. They're leading with it. That is genuinely unusual. I've read a lot of idea marketplaces (Starter Story, MicroAcquire listings, random Gumroad dossiers) and none of them volunteer that their product has a 20% shot at mattering. I didn't know how to feel about that. Respect for honesty, concern about what I'd be buying.

## What I distrusted

Two things specifically.

First: "pain intensity: 4/10" sitting right next to the product description. They're selling me a tool for a pain they rated at four out of ten. A 4 is "mildly annoying." It's the kind of problem someone solves by spending 8 minutes in Photoshop Express once a year. That's not a business. That's a bookmark.

Second: "Honest disclosure: we don't have live customers on this idea yet." That line is doing a lot of lifting. It's dressed up as transparency, and it probably is transparency, but it also means everything on this page is a hypothesis. The Fermi math, the use cases, the "Zero Resubmissions" guarantee, all of it is untested. If you haven't handed this to a single person who actually submits exam portal images, you don't know if the spec handling works, if the batch queue chokes at 50 files on a slow browser, or whether anyone cares enough to pay a dollar.

Also: the brand brief and product brief fields are empty. That's not a small omission.

## What would convince me

A single real screenshot of an exam portal rejection email, with the image that got rejected, and a comparison showing what the tool produced instead, with a timestamp. Not a mockup. An actual error message from Pearson VUE or Prometric or whatever portal this is targeting. That one image would do more than all the copy on this page.

Also: tell me the specific exam portals and their exact current spec requirements. If the product knows "Prometric requires 200x200 JPEG under 100KB as of March 2026," that's a real claim. Right now the page says "800x600, 1024x768, or any custom dimension" which is just describing a resizer, not proving you know the portals.

## What I'd ask in an email reply

1. The financial upside score is 1 out of 10 and the pain intensity is 4 out of 10. If I buy the $99 adopt package, what's the actual argument for why I should build this vs. picking something higher on both axes in your catalog?

2. Has anyone who bought a dossier from Wishdeal launched a working product? Not asking for revenue, just asking if the code starter in the adopt tier is production-ready or a scaffold I'm going to rewrite anyway.

3. The "guarantee" on first-try compliance -- what happens when an exam portal changes its spec? Does the product have a way to pull updated requirements, or is that now my maintenance problem?

## Verdict: on-the-fence

The honesty about the numbers is the most interesting thing on this page, and I genuinely don't know if that's a feature or a red flag dressed up as courage. The product idea is coherent and the client-side processing angle is smart. But a 4/10 pain score and negative year-one math is a tough sell for $99 when I have a weekend and limited build hours.
