# Marcus Delvecchio, Owner/Dispatcher at River Bend Freight LLC — read of Freight Lane Rate Voice Briefing, June 5 2026

> "11 years brokering dry van and flatbed, running 4 dispatchers out of a 900 sq ft office in Rockford, IL. Two kids under 8. I'm in my F-150 by 5:45 AM most days."

## How I got here

Got a LinkedIn notification that someone in a freight ops group I'm in liked this post about "AI briefings for spot rates." It was a Wednesday, I had 20 minutes between a carrier call and a check call, so I clicked. I wasn't looking to buy anything. I was just curious because we use DAT religiously and I'm always annoyed that I have to manually pull rates for my top 6 lanes every morning before I can think straight.

## What I clicked first

The hero tagline "Daily Spot Rate Intelligence Delivered as Voice" landed. That part I actually understood immediately. The "Listen during commute" line -- yes, obviously, that's my whole morning. I drive 38 minutes each way and I'm already listening to trucking podcasts or checking voicemails. The use case clicked before I finished reading the subhead.

Then I hit "Try it Live" and honestly I don't know what happened there. I expected to hear a sample briefing. I'm not sure what I got.

## Where I paused

The "Competitor Rate Context -- See how your quotes compare to spot rates. Know your margin window before picking up the phone." That line. That is the actual problem I have every single day. I quote a shipper, I have no idea if I'm 8% over spot or 8% under, and I'm guessing off muscle memory. If this product actually does that -- not "here's a DAT average" but "here's what you quoted vs where spot is right now on this lane" -- that's legitimately worth paying for. That's where I stopped skimming and started reading.

## What I distrusted

This part, verbatim: "Honest disclosure: we don't have live customers on this idea yet. We shipped the strategy package; you ship the customer conversations."

So this isn't a product. It's a business plan someone built and is selling for $5 to $99. The thing I thought I was evaluating -- the voice briefing, the TMS integration, the lane alerts -- none of that exists. I'm being sold a PDF and a code starter.

The "53/100 Adoptability" score and "$-13,000 Year-1 take-home (Fermi)" are interesting but they're about building this product, not using it. The whole page is pitched at a founder, not a freight broker. I came here as a potential user. I stayed for about 90 more seconds figuring out what I was actually looking at.

Also: "Multi-Lane Coverage -- Track 5, 15, or unlimited lanes." What's the pricing on that? Nowhere. You can "Unlock the dossier for $5" but I still won't know what I'd pay as an operator. That bothers me.

## What would convince me

If the product existed, I'd want to hear an actual sample briefing for a real lane. Not a demo script. Play me 90 seconds of what my 5:45 AM briefing sounds like for Chicago to Dallas dry van. That's it. I'd know in 90 seconds if the voice is tolerable and if the data is useful.

On the rate context feature -- show me a single screenshot of a real quote compared against live spot on a named lane. One real example beats all the bullet points on this page.

If this is a "build it yourself" product, show me who built the last one of these and what happened to them. Not a Fermi estimate. A person.

## What I'd ask in an email reply

1. Is there a working version of this I can listen to, even a mockup for a single lane, before I pay anything?

2. Where does the spot rate data come from -- DAT, Truckstop, something else -- and how fresh is it when it hits the briefing?

3. If I pay the $99 and build this, am I building a product to sell to other brokers, or is this meant to be an internal tool I run for my own desk? The page switches back and forth and I genuinely cannot tell.

## Verdict: on-the-fence

The pain is real and I came here ready to be interested. But the page is selling a build kit to founders, not a tool to freight brokers, and it took me a solid two minutes to figure that out. If there's a working demo, I'd give it another look.
