# Marcus Okafor, VP Customer Success at Latterly (HR tech, ~160 employees) — read of Customer Success AI, May 9 2026

> 9 years in CS, started in support ticketing, now running a team of 7 CSMs covering 280 mid-market accounts. We're post-Series B. Gainsight contract lapsed 14 months ago and we've been living in Salesforce fields and a Google Sheet we call "The Monster."

## How I got here

We had a board meeting Tuesday where our NRR number came up and the CFO said "what's your early warning system for churn" and I gave a vague answer I wasn't proud of. That night I searched "customer success churn prediction software not Gainsight" on my phone on the train home. This showed up on page two, below ChurnZero and Totango. Clicked it Thursday morning with my first coffee before standup.

## What I clicked first

The headline "Move Faster Than Churn" landed. That's the actual feeling. We are always one step behind. The subhead pulls you in: "Stop reacting to at-risk accounts." That's our whole problem stated cleanly. I kept reading.

Then I hit "before your customers know they need to change" and read it twice. I still don't fully understand what that sentence means. Is it saying we'll know before the customer feels pain? Or that we'll know they should upgrade before they ask? It's doing too many things at once.

## Where I paused

The Auto-Generated QBRs section. "Turn data into conversation currency" is the kind of phrase I'd cut from a job posting because it means nothing, but the actual description stopped me: usage metrics, wins, trending questions, expansion suggestions tied to goals. If that's real, that's actually something. I spend about 90 minutes a week pulling data into QBR decks for my team. If this cuts that by half I'm paying attention.

I paused there for maybe 30 seconds trying to figure out whether "automatically generate" means "here's a template with your data dropped in" or "here's an AI-written narrative your CSM will have to heavily edit before the call." Big difference in practice.

## What I distrusted

"Zero manual work." That phrase makes me close tabs. Nothing in CS is zero manual work. Every tool I've ever bought had that somewhere in the copy and every single one required a CSM to babysit it, clean data, re-train the model, or figure out why an account that just renewed is still flagged red.

Also: who is Wishdeal Studio? The footer says "Built by Wishdeal Studio." That's a strange thing to lead with on a product that's supposed to be trusted with your revenue data. Are you an agency that built this? A software house? Is this one of five products? I went looking for an About page or a founding team and came up empty in this copy.

No integrations mentioned anywhere. Not a single one. Does this connect to Salesforce? HubSpot? Intercom? Mixpanel? Zendesk? The product is supposed to synthesize "usage, engagement, support sentiment, and product adoption" but I have no idea where it gets any of that data. My biggest fear is that I sign up for the trial and it's asking me to upload a CSV.

## What would convince me

One real company name. One VP of CS I can DM on LinkedIn who will tell me it replaced their QBR prep process. Not a logo wall, not a "trusted by 200+ teams" badge. One person with a title and a company where I can verify they're real. That's all.

Alternatively: show me a screenshot of an actual health score view for a real-looking account. Not a marketing mockup with three green metrics. Show me what happens when an account goes from healthy to risky. Show me the alert. Show me what the CSM sees.

On the integration question: a simple list of "we pull from these sources: Salesforce, HubSpot, Segment, Intercom, Zendesk" would remove my biggest objection in two seconds.

## What I'd ask in an email reply

1. Where does the usage data come from? Do I need an engineering integration, or does this work from what's already in my CRM?
2. We have 280 accounts managed by 7 CSMs. Is health scoring configured per segment or is it one model across all accounts? Our enterprise accounts churn for completely different reasons than our SMB accounts.
3. Who built this and are you a dedicated CS product company or is this one of several tools your studio is running?

## Verdict: on-the-fence

The problem statement is accurate and the QBR angle is genuinely interesting. But the page has no proof, no integrations, no faces, and one sentence that reads like someone asked ChatGPT to write something visionary. I would not reply today. If I got a cold email from a founder who answered my three questions in the first paragraph, I'd take a 20-minute call.
